Yet another blog post on the English countryside – hope you don’t mind! Maybe I should change my blog name to Custard Creams & Countryside Dreams, as lately all I’ve wanted to do on these sunny weekends is explore more places outside of London. It’s not that I’ve fallen out of love with London in the slightest, its just that there’s so much beauty outside the capital too and in the south of England that I’ve realised that London isn’t always where its at. Either that, or maybe I’m just getting old!
Last Sunday was spent at Mayfield Lavender Farm – a beautiful place to visit in July and August when the lavender are in full bloom. However if you’re allergic to bees or if you’re just a wuss like me, wear trousers, as let’s just say Winnie the Pooh would be in heaven at this place!

There’s nothing like a quick trip to Cambridge on a random sunny Saturday right? Who can resist wandering the churches, colleges & cobbled streets when its just an hour away?! Sometimes I think we Londoners forget that life outside of London does exist, as we’re so wrapped up in exploring different areas of the capital, we forget about the rest of the country. However, the last couple of years, I have been trying to make an effort to see more of our beautiful country and Cambridge has always been one of my favourite cities, amongst Bath & Edinburgh.
So, here are some snaps I took in Cambridge last weekend, where I sent a couple of hours walking around the markets, staring at the clever university graduates posing in their Hogwarts-like gowns around the colleges & obviously taking hundreds of pictures of the architecture and spring cherry blossoms…an Instagrammer’s dream!
Blog friends! It has sure been while since I posted on CCLD & the reason is that lately I feel like I’ve lost my blogging mojo slightly, so didn’t want to post anything just for the sake of it. However reading some of my favourite blogs in the last few weeks has inspired me to start posting regularly on here again, so keep your eyes peeled for future posts!
As you can probably tell by these pictures, once you’re out of practice taking OOTD’s, posing becomes awkward & you clearly forget how to even stand like a human being! This explains my awkward ‘holding-the-hat’ pose that I have adopted in almost every picture *monkey covering his eyes emoji* . The pictures were taken on a Sunday spent wandering one of my favourite spots in London, Hampstead, so I decided to make use of the cute cottages & pubs & take some outfit pictures.
